some love for my fragrances
(So I know this is like the 4th post I've had on here and I'm already going against the whole "skincare" part of this blog, but I posted this on my skin instagram and I've really been wanting to make an actual blog post about it because I thought it was a cool idea, and also I just really liked writing about it on that instagram post.)
Here's the overview of them. I don't know what sparked this intrigue of mine, but I had planned on throwing out these old ones, but my mom insisted on keeping them "just in case she wanted to use them" "but hasn't". It's important to note that they are not all recent, in fact I only wear two of these currently, and by currently I mean within the last year and a half.
Up first to discuss is Tommy Girl by Tommy Hillfiger
This is probably the oldest on this list but it's honestly, whole heartedly, my favorite aside from my everyday ones now. I LOVE this scent, maybe not LOVE, but strongly still appreciate. It doesn't have a sweet scent what so ever, it reminds me almost of a pear. After smelling this again, I was so into it I looked to see if it's still available, and it is! I found it on Kohls for $45 bucks. The notes it has listed are Camellias, apple blossoms, tangy mandarin oranges, spearmint, honeysuckle, desert jasmine, and lily. That's a crap ton of notes, something you probably wouldn't find in a higher priced fragrance.
But anyway, I still really like the scent of this, but will probably keep it on the shelf because I don't know how I feel about wearing a perfume I received over 10 years ago.
Second up is going to be the Lacoste Pink bottle
This looks the most used because my mom would come into my room and use it way more than I ever did. I don't love this scent, I probably liked it at the time, but I also think this one's gone a bit off because it smells quite strongly of alcohol, no so much of what it's supposed to smell like.
Third is DKNY Be Delicious
I remember REALLY liking this fragrance and being so happy my grandma got it for me, and then never used it. Now I was NOT into perfumes when I was younger, it's more of a recent interest of mine because as a child/teenager I didn't see the point of them because I showered, so why would I need to put other good smelling things on me?
But now I remember why I started this indulge and digging up my old fragrances. I saw an influencer AD post on this perfume and screamed because I did not know it was still a thing.
Fourth and final old fragrance is Calvin Klein Euphoria
This one is more sentimental than any other because my grandmother gets this for nearly all the women in the family and it's been her fragrance of choice for absolute years now. I'm not saying I'm not a fan of the smell, however it reminds me so much of grandma, it deters me from spraying it on me. I'll never throw this out though just because she did buy it.
And my two recents, one from Jo Malone, and the other Chloe
The Jo Malone one makes me think twice each time I wear it if I love it; I do ofcource, but it has something in it that makes me think that. It's the Peony and Blush Suede or something like that, it really makes me want more Jo Malone scents and candles!
The Chloe one is my first real designer fragrance and I still absolutely love this scent. I'm obsessed with it and it's one I would probably definitely repurchase once I run out!
An honorable mention to Taylor Swift's Wonderstruck which I had to throw out because it had so many WEIRD and sad moments linked to it. People aren't kidding when they say you associate smell with life events.
