Getting into Skincare-
I’m become some sort of a skincare snob in recent months. I’ve been into it for a few years now, but lately I’ve really dived head first into the world- gaining info whenever and where-ever I could, permitting it is helpful and real information of course. I’m learning what all these ingredients mean and why people are obsessed with putting vitamin c on their face, and I’ve become that person. I just find it fascinating really, it’s become some sort of a hobby for me.
An odd goal I have is to really make my skincare routine eliminate my makeup routine- which to be honest is pretty nonexistent anyway. But if I can put an AHA mask on my face at night for 20 minutes and wake up without the need for foundation- I’m 100% on board. Also I think it’s important to take care of your skin for your future self. It’s fine if you want to look your age, or older, when you’re 52 years old, but it’d be nice to be able to eliminate sun spots and wrinkle, sagging skin.
My goal with writing this is I’d like to keep track of my skincare endeavors and my learnings. I want to keep a log of what I’m using, why I’m using it, and if I like it or it freaks my skin out. I love communities where there’s talk on both sides, I like the conversation and sharing of ideas when it comes to skincare. Every single person’s skin is different and may need something different than someone else. I also hope this pushes me to go past what’s on Sephora’s shelves- because although I love Sephora and they’ve got a pretty awesome, broad, selection, they’re not the end-all-be-all skincare destination.
I’m going to start putting together my favorites right now and what I’m having some issues with as far as products go.
Here is my current routine before bed. I typically will throw in a sample of a product I'm hoping to work into my routine- but this is my basic, every night routine, minus any masks I may use:

For the record- I have normal to dry skin with some cheek redness and minimal breakouts. My focus is typically hydration and brightening. Also I’m an spf junkie and advocate.
